ASOS approached us in November 2010 with news that they were expanding from an online store to a global fashion destination.
They brought us up to speed on the idea for their new product - Fashion Finder; a community driven site to build incremental traffic and therefore extra sales.
We collaborated with ASOS' inhouse production team and took the project from wireframes and sketches through to mockups and prototypes for the entire user-interface.
Fashion Finder had to be recognisable as an ASOS product, maintaining the brand's recognisable style. We added subtle details to key parts of the interface to give it the hint of an application.
The functionality sat behind the outfit builder required a lot of consideration to get the layout correct. We needed to display a wide selection of interface elements in one view, but maintain the site's minimal feel.
Users with Fashion Finder accounts are able to personalise their profile pages, decorating their wall with fashion images and choosing which of their creations they want to be publicly viewable.
As a mandatory step in the process for all UGC, the sign-up process was key. It had to be simple and slot into the user journey seamlessly.
