Over 300’000 people live in Croydon and over 200 languages are spoken across 24 wards. We were commissioned to design a website with every resident in mind.
An initial period of research included a large scale usability test involving residents from every ward.
A Find My Nearest section allows user to quickly and easily locate nearby amenities, facilities and parks etc.
Allowing users to easily transact online is an important strategic aim for the Council. The Do It Online area is deliberately simplistic and open.
A top tasks section was a request made by an overwhelming number of users. Our statistical research identified what these tasks were. Council staff are able to update these on an ongoing basis.
When a user navigates to each section, related content is tailored accordingly. For example, the Do It Online links, the news and the A to Z are specific to the content being viewed.
