A period of research at the start of the project identified the key user groups, typical user journeys and popular content. This insight underpinned a project with ease of use firmly in mind.
We discovered that journalists frequently use the site to stay abridged of recent activity. The newsroom allows them to access all of the latest activity in one place. It also integrates with social media.
Users are able to drill down to view statistics and general information relating to their locality.
Users rarely visit the site with the intention of viewing the latest safety campaign, but our research identified that they almost always remember the key messages due to the prominence placed on the imagery.
By fully understanding the requirements of each of the key user groups we were able to create a relevant and intuitive site structure.
